The award-winning Spear Programme helps young people overcome the challenges they face and build vital skills for their career, be fully prepared for the workplace and commit to long-term employment.
Spear
Our vision is to transform the lives of 16 to 24-year-olds from disadvantaged backgrounds in Hastings and the surrounding areas, giving them the support, skills, and confidence they need to get into work (or re-enter education) and begin to build a future filled with hope.
Since the programme began 20 years ago in London, the Spear Programme has impacted the lives of more than 10,000 16-24 year olds. 75% of those who complete the Spear Programme not only get into work, but remain there a year later. Spear Hastings is launching in September 2024.
How it works
Coaching
We offer a 4-week coaching programme run by two experienced coaches.
Practical training
During the programme, young people learn skills such as writing a good CV and interview technique
Ongoing support
Each trainee is supported for 6-months after the course finishes to help them find a job and succeed in work.
